Our son was killed as a passenger in an Auto Owners insured vehicle, the other three individuals lived. They promised right off that they would pay all of my son's medical bills. They paid the other three's medical bills but then refused to pay our son's bills. Auto Owners then hired the most disgusting lawyer who defamed and made false accusations about our son. They even said "Your son is not worth that much, he didn't have any dependents or a spouse, he was only a college student." The insurance lawyer did nothing to protect the insured either. It took three and half years of agony and pain as the Auto Owners layer tried to drag the case on and continued to defame our son and make false accusations about the rest of our family.
I know I have never met a more disgusting person, and to think that Auto Owners paid this man to represent them. Where was their reputation then. It took over three and half years for Auto Owners to make good on our son's medical bills. It is absolutely shameful the way they made promise after promise and and showed no remorse or empathy for our loss.. |

I had Auto Owners Insurance and everything was fine until I got in a car wreck. The car wreck was not my fault and Auto Owners was not helpful either. They messed up on my claim and would not total out the car and then sent my car out for estimates. They realized after they had sent the check and I told them with the milage and age of the car it would make more sense to total it out. Then the same adjuster Allen was just terrible to work with. I asked him "Allen are you with me or against me"? I get the feeling you are against me and I am the victim with pain and an injury. And he said I guess I am against you. Then I told him I think your and __hole. And he said I think your an ___hole. I then spoke with his supervisor who seemed to think his behavior was just fine and that I am the one with the problem. When my doctors office called to get some bills paid he made the girl at their office cry. I said to her your not being sensative, he is mean and awful. I had to go an attorney after that because I could not stand to deal with auto owners for one more second. I had been with Farmers my whole life and decieded to give auto owners a try and save a little money. That was a huge mistake. My sister was in an accident 1 month after my accident and her stuff was handled quickly and they took care of everything and it was a breeze. My agent with Farmers is the best. I went back to Farmers after I realized how terrible auto owners was and I have been very happy ever since.. |

MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE HAD INSURANCE WITH THE COMPANY FOR AT LEAST TEN YEARS AND WHEN OUR CLAIM WAS MADE CONCERNING OUR BUILDING, IT SEEMS IT WAS ALL OUR FAULT THAT A TORNADO DAMAGED OUR BUILDING. THE AGENT HAD TRIED TO SELL MY HUSBAND A NEWER BUILDING PREVIOUSLY AND NEVER EVEN CAME TO OUR BUILDING TO CHECK OUT THE DAMAGE. HE RODE BY BUT NEVER STOPPED OR EVEN TRIED TO MAKE THIS DEAL RIGHT. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THIS AGENT NEVER STANDS BEHIND WHAT HE REPRESENTS AND I AM VERY DISSPPOINTED IN HIS INTEGRITY AND HONESTY. SO WE ARE OUT 21,000.00 AND GUESS WHAT DO YOU THINK THEY CARE? NO, BUT I DO AND I INTEND TO INFORM ANYONE WHO IS CONSIDERING USING THIS COMPANY THAT THEY MIGHT WANT TO THINK TWICE BEFORE STEPPING OUT AND PAYING OUT ALL THE PREMIUMS. WE WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER OFF TO HAVE PUT THE MONEY IN THE BANK AND WE CERTAINLY WOULD HAVE HAD THE MONEY TO PAY FOR OUR DAMAGES.. |

I recently had a auto claim with Auto-Owners which has became a nightmare. In trying to get information about my policy I have called any office within the company that you can find a number and no one can or will tell me if Auto-Owners has an Appraisal Clause within the policy. The answer I get from each call is they don't know. I would think that if you sold a policy you would certianly know the policy. I think the situation has to do with the claims office and adjuster rather than the company as a whole. I have had other claims that were handled perfectly but NOT THIS ONE.. |

having a very hard time with a fire claim. They almost have my house rebuilt and the adjuster has lied regarding getting our contractor paid and after accepting the bid from them they are under paying our mortgage company, which will inturn have to pay our contractor. This is our first claim on our property in over 15 years and the are not making it easy. This is such a tough time in our life with loosing our house and the first thing the adjuster said to us "if you make my life hell, I can make your life hell" this is just the kind of support we pay for.. |

Fast response, pleasant but careful adjuster. We had a few differences, but were able to work them out quickly with mutual satisfaction. The adjuster worked with our selected contractor to reach agreement on the nature and manner of the work, which we considered a definite plus as it allowed us to have someone we trust work on our historic house. We had a "full replacement" policy, and were glad we did. Now, if our plicy ifs cancelled, I'll be back to complain about that, but right now I am very satisfied.. |
